Courtyard, Ivanhoe
In this project we were faced with courtyard which was devoid of vegetation, had minimal floor space and a large fence above a retaining wall. The courtyard ran along the kitchen and living area of the house and was the main view from the house. We introduced a 5 metre long greenwall above the retaining wall to bring an abundance of greenery and diversity into the space. By doing this we were able to maintain then minimal floor space available. Along with this feature we introduced a 4 metre long pond, a spotter gum vertical privacy screen and a custom built Tasmanian oak seat. The seat which is 2 metres in length gives both a destination and a focal point.
